Ray Jenkins

Associate, MCG Consulting

Ray Jenkins brings over two decades of unparalleled experience in addiction recovery and workforce development to MCG Consulting. As a social entrepreneur and the Chief Executive of Emerging Futures CIC, Ray has played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between primary care treatment providers and the communities they serve. His leadership in establishing high-quality training and consultancy products through Vital Signs has solidified his reputation as a trailblazer in the field.

In 1998, Ray was appointed as a board member of the UK Anti-Drugs Co-ordination Unit, where he advised on the development and implementation of the Government’s first UK drug strategy. His work in developing the initial wave of criminal justice interventions with HM Prisons and Probation set the foundation for transformative changes in the sector.

Ray’s journey began in 1994 when he launched the UK’s first arrest referral scheme in Brighton, a groundbreaking initiative that set the stage for his future achievements. As a key leader at CGL, he was instrumental in growing the organisation from a small team to Europe’s largest provider of drug and alcohol treatment services.

A BACP-qualified integrative counsellor with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Ray also serves as a visiting lecturer for the University of Brighton’s Criminology and Substance Misuse Interventions degree course. His extensive knowledge, combined with his passion for making a meaningful impact, makes him an invaluable asset to MCG Consulting.

At MCG, Ray works closely with the team to deliver our Workplace Connection: Mutual Aid Recovery programme, drawing on his wealth of experience to foster resilience, reduce stigma, and enhance productivity within workplace cultures.
